Just a few blocks from my house, we frequent this park with our daughter. This was placed for the enjoyment of all cachers, but is placed in honor of a fallen firefighter and public hero. Your journey to find the cache starts at the above coordinates, at a marker dedicated to him. All stages are micros and can be done relatively quickly... if you pay attention. This cache was originally hidden on January 1, but I decided to make it a multi instead.
At the marker, follow the steps below to find the coordinates to the second stage. All following stages will have coordinates written. Please place the stages back as you find them!
For the North Coordinates:
- Step 1: Find the date on the marker. Divide the year by the day of the month.
- Step 2: Divide the result of Step 1 by the month's number.
- Step 3: From the Step 2 answer, subtract the number of letters in the Hero's name (first and last name, do not count spaces).
- Step 4: There is a Bible scripture on the marker (book, chapter, verse). Subtract the verse number from your Step 3 result.
- Step 5: Subtract the result from Step 4 from your original North coordinate. This is your new North coordinate.
For the West Coordinates:
- Step 1: Add the number of letters in the scripture book ("Book of...", to clarify) to the chapter number.
- Step 2. Subtract the number of letters in the Hero's first name from the result of step 1.
- Step 3: Subtract the result of Step 2 from your original West coordinates. The result is your West coordinate.
