Scenic cache in Rocky Glen State Park in Newtown, CT
A very scenic park along the Pootatuck river.
Entrance and parking at the end of Dayton Street off of Church Hill Road at N41 25.382 W73 16.926.
The cache is an ammo box hidden in the traditional New England way.
Follow the yellow trail in. The building across the river at the dam/waterfall has been restored from a 19th century rubber factory.
It's worth it to follow the white trail out for some different scenery.
Note the foundation of the house of Thomas Brew, the man who donated the land to the state in 1942, near the first intersection of the yellow and white trails.
This trail is part of Al's Trail, a newer (c. 2004) trail system that will traverse Newtown.
