Geocache Description:

Phideo invites you to be a part of The Maryland Geocaching Society WMRT Bike Event at The Lockhouse Restaurant next to the Western Maryland Rail Trail from 0700-

The forty plus refers to the mileage to expect to cover, not a reference to our ages. Make plans now to attend the WMRT Bike Event/Lunch. This event will start in Hancock and cover 20 miles round-trip on the lower end of the trail towards Big Pool. During this stretch we will pick up 11 caches along the way before returning to Hancock. Then we will break for lunch (not provided), rest a little, chat and have fun. This would be a great time to find “Hey you’re as smart as Einstein” cache. At this point folks will have a choice to make. If you are not up to continuing on the upper part of the WMRT towards Polly Pond, then you can stop here where your car should be. The rest of us will be awarded picking up an additional 9 caches spanning a further 20 miles round-trip.

Note: You must attend the lunch to log this event cache as a find.

Designated Parking

To reach Hancock and explore the trail, take exit 3 from I-70 into Hancock. Travel west on MD 144 for 1.4 miles. Turn left into the Western Maryland Rail Trail parking lot.
