I launched this cache to celebrate my 100th find. The cache is hidden in an “off the beaten path” area of a Waukesha County Park so if you don’t have a sticker it will cost you a few bucks. Please show your support of our great park systems, which provide us so many wonderful places to Geocache, by being honest regarding the self-pay fee envelopes.
The most prominent feature of this park is the large ridge that stretches nearly the whole length of the park. The ridge was formed during the last glacial period and offers great views of the park and the surrounding area. The park offers a few surprises. While looking for the cache keep your eyes open for Red-tailed Hawk or Turkey Vultures. In the summer bring your swimming suit and cool off in the old fashioned swimming hole. In the winter the park has a fantastic sledding hill. I recommend parking at: N42 51.926 W088 23.184. Just a warning, because of the “lay-of-the-land” in the cache location GPS readings can be a little inconsistent and the area can be wet after recent rain or in the spring. In the winter be careful of the snowmobile trail in the area of the cache.
The cache is a screw topped, camo taped container, containing a pencil and log. The original contents contained some items for the whole family to trade. The terrain has some hills but this should be a cache the whole family can enjoy and although the name of the cache may indicate otherwise extensive Geocaching experience shouldn’t be necessary.
8/31/06 Because of change in structure of the original hiding spot the location was changed slightly and coordinates were adjusted.
