Geocache Description:

New coords from June 20th 2010!

Finnerudseter, 500 meter above sea level, was a summer pasture (“seter”) to the farms Loe, Løken and Toen in Ringerike. The place is loacted close to both a red and a blue marked trail.

The farming activities were discontinued in the 1950-ies, and the remaining buildings are now used as cabins.

As active cultivating has become less intensive the farmland is gradually being replaced by forest, predominantly spruces. Hopefully some livestock grassing during the summer will continue in order for the fields not to completely vanish.

During World War II Finnerudseter was a Milorg-base. The night between 22 and 23 February 1945 the milorg warriors secured a dropping of weapons and other equipment from three English planes.
