Welcome to Shelbyville's Capri Theater, one of the last remaining movie houses from a time when the screens were smaller but the pictures were bigger.
Big neon signs, art nouveau motifs, parties in the lobby, at a time when people dressed up for a movie premiere, the glamour may be gone, but the building remains with all those memories. The Capri is luckier than most though, it is still in operation, still running first run movies, the big multiplexes have not gotten it yet. As you ease into the downstairs theater and slide down into the rocking chairs you can almost see the ghosts of Tracy and Hepburn, smell the smoke from Bogy's stogies, hear Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh laughing in the background while the cigarette and candy girls walk the aisles, plying their trade. Or head upstairs to the second run bargain matinee. The seats don't rock, but it is still a bargain.
The sound system is not THX and the projector is not digital, but you can still take a date to a movie with drinks and pocorn and get change back from a twenty, and if you skip the concession stand a ten will pay for your date. See some things never change, and I for one think that maybe they shouldn't.
The cache is a camouflaged mint container hidden on a fence, near the theater. You will have a good view of the marquee from there and will be able to hunt more discreetly. Cache has been relocated for the Amazing Georace, if you found it before feel free to come hunt it again.
