Geocache Description:

This is a very easy hiding site; paved parking lot at about waist high.

This is the first of many caches I want to place on Spirit Lake Memorial Highway all the way up to Mt St Helens. For you day travelers wanting to see a great attraction, very few compare to Mt St Helens, what it did, what its doing and where it will go from here. This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the 1980 eruption. I am a local and experienced the eruption on several levels; as a 17 year old know-it-all (I'm much more humble at 42)I was a student at nearby Toutle Lake High School in May 1980. I got intimate with the area as a firefighter for the Department of Natural Resources which included working in the blast zone and seeing devastation while the fires were still hot.

My cache is small and I hope to have visitors from around the globe and the local area come visit.

The nearby parking lot shows free 15-minute parking if you want to avoid the $5 parking fee for the state park systems.
