Geocache Description:

The February Meet and Greet sponsored by the Northern Michigan Geocachers is on! Come on out and meet some cachers from within and outside of the area! Your hosts this month are the5vons and tomboygirl.

  • Date: Sunday, February 13, 2005
  • Time: 1:00 – ?
  • Place: Hungry Howie's Pizza of Oscoda
  • Cost: Depending on what you order. Management will give geocachers a dollar off of each buffet ordered during this event.

The Northern Michigan Geocachers interests involve exploring the various volunteer programs and service opportunities in our northern areas in supporting GC.COM's goals of cleaner forests and environmental preservation. We have extended an offer to Ada Takacs of the Michigan Department of Natural resources to join us and explain about the Adopt-a-Forest program and how it works. She has agreed to attend. We will also have Don Beem from the Thunder Bay Island Preservation Society who will share with us their goals regarding the island and the lighthouse on it as we look into the possibility of lending our helping hands on that project. Thunderbay Island, Lake Huron

The Northern Michigan Geocachers (NMG) is a loosely organized group of geocachers who plan to get together regularly throughout the Northern Lower and Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Meetings are held monthly throughout the area and are posted as an event cache on www.geocaching.com. The groups main objective is coming together in order to socialize in a family friendly atmosphere, discuss our activities, plan and execute various larger events, promote the educational benefits associated with geocaching, contribute group volunteerism in our communities, forests and recreational areas as well as increasing traffic at our local caches. We are looking for pro-active and pro-participative geocachers from throughout Northern Michigan that are willing to help us reach the groups objectives. If you are a resident of Northern Lower or Upper Michigan, please join us. Meetings are open to the public.

Please Note! Space is limited at this venue to about 40 people, so please RSVP to the cache page as soon as possible to hold your seat.
