This cache has been archived.

Nomex: Hi
As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm temporarily archiving this to keep it from continually showing up in search lists. Just contact us when you have the cache repaired, [RED]and assuming it still meets the guidelines[/RED], we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Don't hesitate to email me via the link on my Profile if you have any questions. [red]Please be sure to include the cache name and GC Code, or better yet, the URL of the cache page.[/red]

Thanks for your cooperation!

Geocache Description:

The Napa River Trail is a great place to walk. Please bring a pen or pencil.

The location of the cache is well known to older locals, who may recall a large 4 foot diameter water pipe suspended on a bridge crossing the Napa River. Some may recall climbing around the safety fence and crossing the river on this bridge. Of course, we NEVER did such a thing. Ha Ha. Not much is left of the old bridge, but some structure remains on each side of the river.

The coordinates above are NOT the cache location. It is the place to park at the trail head. Here you will see a sign which will give you clues to the next coordinates. This is not a difficult puzzle, it just slows you down to enjoy the scenery along the river.

N38 18.A0B W122 16.CDB {The 0 is a zero)

Fill in the blanks on the questions below.

Respect Private __A__ {Count the letters of the missing words to complete the coordinates.}
Keep __B__ scene clean.
Help __C__ this area.
City __D__ Napa.

Now that you have the new coordinates, move on to stage two. At this location you will find another sign to unravel. Again, count the letters of the missing words below.

N38 18.E1F W122 16.GHI

Napa River Trail.
No __E__ beverages.
No __F__ or fires.
Use of trail is from sunrise to __G__ only.
Dogs must be on __H__.
No motor __I__.

Now you are ready to move to stage 3. NO, not another sign. this time you must use your detective skills to find the final coordinates.

N38 18.9J8 W122 16.64K
When you reach the stage 3 coordinates, answer these two questions:

What color is the nearby Gate? __J__ {Remember, you are counting the letters in the word}

What was hanging next to the door, was a "Hub Cap". {This answer calls for two words make up of equal number of letters.} __K__ {Just count the letters of either of the two words in the answer.}

This should lead you to the cache which is a round container tubular. It is well camoflaged. Please conceal it well, by replacing exactly as found. This is a busy location for walkers and kids. The river flooded December 2005 and washed the trail pretty bad. Please watch your step, and enjoy the trail. MR
