Geocache Description:

This is a relatively busy area during working hours. It is best to "treasure hunt" in the late afternoon, on weekends and holidays. The trek is mostly on paved walks and parking lots, and the various "treasures" are only short distances off trail. The final cache could get a little "rocky."

This is a 4-part treasure hunt that takes approximately 1 hour. It involves finding clues, solving puzzles, and determining the coordinates of other points. To be successful, you will need a pen or pencil and a print of these clues to record your information. Sometimes words in quotes offer an additional hint.

So, park with the "war heroes" and begin your quest!

1st clue: At the base of the first marker are some concrete pavers—rectangular and curved. To establish the coordinates of the next marker, record the following information:
(a)Number of curved concrete pavers = _____
(b)Number of rectangular concrete pavers = _____

N 036 degrees 03.(a)30 minutes
W 080 degrees 17.91(b) minutes

2nd clue: Look for the “sign”—it’s a matter of “life” and “death.” Establish the coordinates of the next marker, by completing the following:
(c)Day of birth minus one = _____
(d)Day of death plus one = _____

N 036 degrees 03.(c)39 minutes
W 080 degrees (d).893 minutes

3rd clue: “Log” in the coordinates of the next point here. Be sure and replace the small container and contents exactly as you found them. Enter the coordinates here.

4th clue: Congratulations! You’ve found the “gold” but not the treasure. Take a “gold” coin with you to the final cache. “Spend” it there for something you like; or, take it with you and leave another coin there.

Don’t forget to jot down the coordinates of the final cache. They’re here, just look closely!

Please place the small container and contents exactly as you found them. Don’t put the “ends” on too tightly.

5th clue: Congratulations! So, far you’ve done everything “right.” Your treasure awaits! Look for a large ammo box that is partly concealed. Use your “gold” coin (by leaving it in the coin bag) to trade for something else. Keep it if you like, and leave another coin.

Please sign the logbook and record your find at www.geocache.com.

Travel bugs are welcome!

NOTE: The initial cache includes a special gift for the first finder - look in the coin bag. Enjoy a treat on us!
