TrailRun: Unfortunately I have to archive this cache, and the container and markers will picked up before May 1, 2006.

It's in an area the DuPage Forest Preserve has designated as not being available for GeoCaches (all of southern Waterfall Glen), so I did not attempt the permit process, because it's pretty clear the cache would not be allowed in the locations used for the markers and caches.

I'd recommend a visit to the established trails in this area whether or not there is a cache to find.

Geocache Description:

This is the easier half of a double multi-cache located in an area with some great woods and trails. All points are close to established trails, nearly all accessible by bike if running or hiking a couple of miles is not your thing. Bikes should not be used on the single track trails though.

Following the binary theme, bits, and bytes there are eight clue points, two choices at each clue point, two trails to take from each one, two courses sharing the same points, and two caches. (See BINARY CACHE 1 for the other one.)

The coordinates on each clue marker point to two other clue markers, except the last one which only points to the cache. There are no dead ends, but after a while you may see a coordinate you've seen before so it will help to record both coordinates at each stop. Also, if you can't find one of the clues, you'll have an alternate place to look. The cache can be found with 4 clue points. You should not need more than 5 of the 8. Either way, you'll cover about two miles along some nice forest preserve trails - this is not a 5 minute drive-up cache.

Parking for a few cars is close to the starting point. Use Bluff Road from the South, which connects to Lemont Road just north of the river.

The final cache is a 1.5 gallon pretzel container.
