This monument is on what was known as the Louise Starling Ranch. On January 31, 1976, local and state dignitaries addressed between 3,500 and 4,000 people gathered here to celebrate the February 1 departure of the Bicentennial Wagon Train, and its 1,200 mile trek to Valley Forge. Three Florida wagons and various riders made the trek, and the national wagon train reached Valley Forge on July 3.
You are searching for a microcache with a log; bring your own pen or pencil. There is a half-circle turnaround at the cache site. Although this has the appearance of a public monument, it is located on private property; this cache was placed with permission from the property owner. Out of consideration for his kindness, please tread lightly at the monument, and do not search for the cache after dark.
