Geocache Description:

Like the cache "Santa Rosa del Camino," this cache is also located on the Jesuit Mission Trail, near the town of Concepcion.

This cache is located at Piedras de Calama, a small granite dome rock about 8 km from Concepcion. If you are in the area, I'm sure you came to see the Jesuit missions, which are well worth seeing. But if you want to get away for some communion with nature and a little solitude, this is a great place. I will give more direction details in the hints section.

The cache is a blue plastic tuperware type container 6 inches square and 3 inches deep. It contains a pocket spanish dictionary, a hemp bracelet, and of course a logbook and pen.

Calama is the smaller of two granite domes in the area. The other one, called "Piedras de Santa Teresita" is also well worth visiting. It is also about 8 km from Concepcion (S 16 07.739 W 061 58.118). It is set in a a thick patch of the beautiful Chiquitano dry forest. You will see many exotic birds, animals, plants and insects. The climb up the dome is steep but does not require a rope. It best way to find it is to hire a guide from Casa Espana. When I went they charged $5 for half a day.
