The very first cache I attempted to find with my Christmas-present
GPSr was located near where I placed this cache. I learned by fire
how to utilize the GPSr tool in this park, and have the DNF to
prove it! I also, coincidentally, was the last person to log a Find
on the original cache, Ball One! (GCHA56). That one was archived
after its owner departed the region. I was planning a cache in a
different area along the same road, but never felt comfortable with
any of the places I found, so once this spot opened up, it was time
for a full-size replacement!
As a student at the nearby community college 15+ years ago, this
park was a favorite between-class retreat, and now my children
enjoy playing here as we live 2 miles away.
The park has lots of play equipment for the kids, and the
college's baseball team plays nearby, so you might be able to catch
a good game if you come at the right time! And with that said,
beware of the muggles. The cache is far enough away but you might
look suspicious lurking back in the woods.
The cache is a green ammo can, filled with goodies that my 4
year old helped pick out. There are some goodies for the adults
too.
