Geocache Description:

Waterloo Landing was once in use as a ferry terminal serving Ootischenia on the Columbia River. This beautiful spot is now visited mostly by fishermen trying for Rainbow Trout and Walleye.

Situated to the east of the Columbia River this cache is contained in a tube made from 4" PVC pipe. The cache is located approximately a 500m walk from the nearest blacktop road. There is a trail allowing one to drive to within 30m of the find but it is only for the adventurous and/or brave - be warned. The trail has very deep ruts and is impassable for vehicles in bad conditions such as snow or mud. If in doubt it is recommended to park at N49°15.805' W117°38.354' at the end of the blacktop and take the nice walk along the trail around the lagoon. Original contents: cool army truck, water bombs, C$ 100 bill (really!!), padlock and keys, 2 x AA batteries, pack of playing cards, logbook and pencils.
