This is to honor Harry Fry who was a long time champion making
football coach at Gate City High School. His legacy for building
championship teams is legendary. While he is most known as a
football coach, lesser talked about are his teaching skills in
mathmatics. He was teamflyers algebra and solid geometry teacher
and he firmly believed that the girls were as capable of succeeding
in math as the boys were in football. He was a highly loved and
respected coach and teacher. There is a plaque honoring him not far
from the cache. He was honored as a football coach, but he also was
an excellent teacher, bringing to the classroom the same passion he
brought to the football field.
Area can be busy at times. Stealth required. Parking nearby. Cache
is 5ft from parking. At certain times of the year, this area will
be very busy. Sidewalk is nearby if you should want to park aways
off and walk by. This is a favorite walking area for citizens of
Gate City.
