CacheZealots #4 - Mayday!!! Mayday!!! Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

mtn-man: Last couple of visitors it looks like. I will leave it there for a while but I am going to archive the page. That way some folks that have it on a query or a printed page can still log it if they find it.

This cache will live on though. It will soon be featured on an episode of:

Geocache Description:

Yet another in my recent series of caches. If you hunt this one at night you will miss the reason for the cache being here.

In searching for a new location for another cache I came across a very unusual object. I was around the flight path of the Cobb County Airport - McCollum Field and was looking around. All of the sudden I saw a crashed helicopter! It looked like it had been there a while and was upright with the tail assembly broken. I did not investigate because of the muddy day when I placed the cache (had left the boots at home). I also did not want to place a cache on the helicopter since there is construction going on between the area where you can see it and the actual helicopter itself.

NOTE: The maps are not correct here... this is not located on airport property. You can pull into a warehouse area and can park close to the cache, depending on the tractor-trailers in the area. The cache is a bison container with a log only. Bring a pencil or pen. If you don't sign the log you cannot log the cache page. It is pretty easy to see when you get there.

This cache is another in the series dedicated to a small group of cachers that have targeted me to steal my caches. They say they are coming to "inspect" my caches in Tennessee and Georgia. I figured I would give them something to do. This series of caches is dedicated to these few cachers who are going to steal my caches.

I got this in email on February 10, 2005.

mnt-man,

The South Lost! Get Over It! Thanks to Minnesota and Wisconsin (Old Abe) the best men won.

Thanks to all the transplants moving to North Atlanta it's once again a respectable town. We are getting together an elite group from Team Cachecare to make a thorough inspection of 27 of your hides in Tennessee and Georgia. You can try to stop us at Kennesaw, but us yanks will break through your ranks. Resistance is Futile!

Our elite team will clean up any cache trash that we deem to be cachelitter.

Unfortunately, the email above is real.

Interestingly enough, I did not fight in the Civil War. I am more concerned with the war on Americans and the patriots that are fighting for America overseas (one of my family is over there now). Of course, that is why I almost always put an American Flag and a POW/MIA sticker inside every cache I find. I am an American first and foremost.

So, here is one of many new caches dedicated to them. The bonus to local cachers is that you get to find some caches, that is until they get "inspected".
