THANKS TO RALLEYJO, I HAVE CORRECTED ERRORS IN THE PUZZLE.
KUDOS TO HER AND APOLOGIES TO ALL OTHERS
This puzzle cache is not located at these
coordinates, which just exist to ground you and whet your
appetite. This location is the Mayan Theatre, designed in
1927 by Morgan, Walls & Clements with Mayan decorations by
Francisco Cornejo. This theater was intended to house live musical
comedy presentations; it is currently a nightclub and L.A. Historic
Cultural Monument 460.
Instead, we are exploring movie couples and their relationships.
Nicole Kidman/Tom Cruise may come and go (11/19/06 update: REALLY
go), but there are other relationships more timeless and rewarding,
maybe even more than Paul Newman/Joanne Woodward. In this puzzle,
you get to figure out some of my favorite couplings and, hopefully,
spend time enjoying the results of those couplings when not
geocaching. The relationships are the key to solving the puzzle and
locating the coordinates.

As they say on the airlines, let me be the first to welcome you.
You should be standing on a curb among three palm trees - this is
so LA! If you are not there (or here) yet, parking is immediately
adjacent, plentiful and expensive. It is a good idea to come here
on public transit or weekends, when there is street parking within
one to two blocks to the north, east, and south.
I picked this spot because it is easier to get an accurate GPS
reading here than at the actual destination, which is directly west
across the street. Also it was intended to be a virtual cache, but
it appears those do not get approved anymore. This is also an
appropriate spot because it was right next to you that Axel Foley
put a banana in the tailpipe of the Billy Rosewood and John
Taggart's car in 1984 (which year we seem to have survived).
Go across the street and look for a velcro-attached cache.
After signing the log, visit the site where parts of the filming
of The Sting, Chinatown, Beverly Hills Cop (geographically
displaced), Ghostbusters, The Fabulous Baker Boys and Vertigo took
place. Through the portal and into the sumptuous surroundings.
Linger a bit. Alex Foley pretended to be employed by Rolling Stone
immediately to your left, albeit the area has been completely
reorganized.
This particular portal is not handicapped accessible, but there
are others that are. I also suggest that entry is most prudent
between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. and it would be useful if you did
not look like you had slept in your street clothes in the area
immediately adjacent to the coordinates.
Go up the double stairs and revel in the corridor in which you
find yourself. Across and to the left is the Historic Corridor.
Special thanks to the inspiration of "Edendale in the Golden
Age of Silent Film"
