ThunderEggs: This cache is being archived to comply with BLM restrictions regarding caches in the Steelhead Falls WSA.
In January 2005, the BLM closed the Steelhead Falls Wilderness Study Area to all geocaching. Later that year, in August, in response to a formal protest filed with the BLM by geocachers, the BLM decided to permit geocaches in the Steelhead Falls WSA, so long as there were no more than were there at the start of the process, which was three.
We have only recently received from the BLM a description of the boundaries of the WSA. This cache is within the boundaries. As it was placed after the BLM closed the area, and the three older caches within the WSA are still active, regretfully your cache must either be moved outside the WSA, or it must be retrieved and archived. Our contact with the BLM has confirmed this.
If you would like to move this cache outside the WSA, then we will be happy to unarchive the cache once we have confirmed that the new location is outside the WSA and that the cache continues to meet the regular guidelines. The WSA boundary is about 0.1 miles to the east of this cache.
If you choose not to move the cache, please retrive it when you can so that it does not become geo-litter.
