For a great hike, drive up Eagle Mountain Drive and park at N 49° 18.649 W 122° 48.731. Start your hike from here and stick to the main trails -- there is absolutely no need to bushwhack anywhere on this hike. Share the trail with mountain bikers and the odd dirt bike. The total hike is about 2.25 km round trip from here.
