This cache has been archived.

desflurane: I have been informed that the cache container has come apart, so after two years I think I'll retire this cache.

Thanks for searching! It was fun to watch!

Geocache Description:

The cache is NOT at the above coordinates.

Ok, I need some help here. I'm fairly new to geocaching and perhaps one of you have seen something like this before. When I caught the geocaching bug, I went and bought myself a fancy new GPS and got a bunch of cables to connect it to my laptop computer - all well and good. I can now send all my geocaching information zinging back and forth between my laptop and my GPS greatly streamlining the process - this is all just fine and dandy.

The problem is that as a result of all this geocaching interconnectivity MY LAPOTOP HAS CAUGHT THE BUG AND HAS STARTED CACHING ON ITS OWN! I can tell because I found my computer and GPS sitting on my desk one morning covered in fresh mud and scratches. And to top it off I've noticed that a cache container I was about to hide myself has gone missing! And look at this! Here is a copy of the message I found on my laptop's screen that morning:

PROCESS COMPLETE: pHideGeoCache();
ERROR FLAGS: Nil
MESSAGE FLAGS: 4
  1. New geocache placement completed.
  2. Valuables concealed, vessel type(AlCa).
  3. Check digit: Nil
  4. Coordinates logged to file.
Coordinate Dump:

NORTH CHECKSUM: 40
WEST CHECKSUM: 25
GEOCACHE LOCATING PROCEDURES: Active
RECOMMENDED APPROACH: From South

I'm pretty sure that this means that my computer has swiped the container and hidden it somewhere. I doubt it could have gotten very far from home (as it has no visible means of locomotion) but computers are amazing devices... Now that I think about it, seems as though there were a few more miles on the Jeep's odometer just recently too. Hmm. (The coords above are just a guess where the pesky little bugger could have gone, should be reasonably close to the actual location).

At any rate, the container was all ready to go, and held a logbook, pencil, a couple of nifty little compasses (darn it!) and some little certificates to be taken by the first three finders. I'm really sorry to lose this stuff, but if you can find it, more power to you!
