Mystery caches typically require solving some puzzle - and this is no exception. This puzzle is more mathematical than our previous ones however. As usual the published coordinates are just dummies. To find the real coordinates you will have to enter the world of cryptography. The encryption method used here was a breakthrough in strong encryption invented in the 1970s. Ordinarily this method is unbreakable but we have deliberately kept it simple enough that it is possible to crack using just a pencil and paper (or pocket calculator) and a bit of relatively ordinary mathematics.
The decimal digits of the minutes part of the actual coordinates of the cache have been encrypted using this method - to find the cache you will have to break the code and decrypt the digits. Each digit has been individually encrypted.
The coordinates are:
N 44° 02.[08 31 27]'
W 079° 18.[03 13 18]'
The cache itself was a regular tupperware type container in the York Regional Forest but is now an Ammo box.
