Geocache Description:

Have Your Photo Taken from a Lighthouse !!

This is Leasowe Lighthouse, the oldest brick built lighthouse in Britain. More details about the lighthouse can be found at The Friends of Leasowe Lighthouse Web Site. If you want to look around, the lighthouse it is open to the public the first Sunday of every month.

There is also a traditional cache nearby (GCMH1F) which you might want to visit at the same time as completing this cache.

The web cam can be found by selecting Leasowe Lighthouse at From here you can see a view from the lighthouse that updates once a minute. The location that the camera points at changes all the time, which makes this a particularly dificult cache to do.

The listed co ordinates are at the base of the lighthouse, your task is to visit the site and get your picture taken by the web cam.

Usual rules apply, you need to obtain a webcam image of yourself, looking towards the top of the lighthouse holding your GPS, at the location and upload it to the web page. Failure to do so will result in your log being removed.

You can either "phone a friend" and get them to right mouse click on the image and save it, (A copyright warning message will display, however, the owners has kindly given permission for the images to be used for Geocaching purposes) or if you have a web enabled phone you can capture the image yourself. have three other webcam sites on the Wirral, we hope to add West Kirby as a geocache shortly, the other two sites are not available for Geocaching purposes.

Thanks to Steve at Camserv for giving permission to use their webcam.

We hope you enjoy your visit.
