Geocache Description:

Here is a cache for those of you who are feeling adventurous. Located at Tower Lake, between New Maryland and the Hanwell Road.

I recently discovered this lake via Mapsource. It seemed like a good spot for a cache so Flo and I skied in for a visit. The lake is approximately 15 acres in size. We parked at the end of Baldwin Street in New Maryland and followed the old road for much of the way, and cut across country for the last bit. It is fairly open going as the area appears to have been logged a few years ago. It may be possible to get there from the Hanwell side as well, but would not be such a good route in the summer as you would have to walk around the lake to get to the cache. You will need skis or snowshoes in the winter, or if you choose, it is located approx. 300 metres from the groomed snowmobile trail if you wish to access it that way. In the summer an A.T.V., G.A.V., or shanks mare would be the way to go.

The cache contains trading items, cache and log sheets, and a pencil.

Plan on giving yourself about two hours to do the cache.
