Geocache Description:

Downtown Aiken, mostly on sidewalks.

Horseplay was developed as a fund-raiser for the Aiken Center for the Arts and the United Way of Aiken County. Thirty-one horses were scattered throughout downtown Aiken in October 2003. In March of 2004 they were auctioned off but many of the colorful life-sized horses, that brightened Aiken's downtown during Horseplay, continue to be a source of enjoyment for visitors and long-time residents alike.

This five-stage multi-cache was designed to show off some of the horses while enjoying an extraordinary southern town. If you park you car near stage one and walk the entire cache, it will be about 12 city blocks long including getting back to your car. So park the car, enjoy the unique shops, eateries and horses as you engage in some "geo horseplay".

Stage one will start you on a journey where horses could get "hitched" and riders could buy some gifts and art work.

None of the stages are located on a horse. No bushwacking needed in any stage of the cache.

Beware of muggles in the final stage. You may have to wait for the light to change to rescue the cache.

Small item exchange as the cache is in a small canister container.

****Note: horse at stage 3 maybe permanently removed due to new eatery. Occasionally, the horses are removed for refurbishing. Sometimes horse #4 is removed due to a block party. However, the stands that hold the horses remain. Just makes the cache a bit more challenging.
