This is the 1st in a series of 5 caches on one section of the South Poway Trail. To complete all 5 caches, the hike will be less than 2 miles round trip. There is little shade on the trail, so bring water. You will not need to leave the trail to find this cache. Bring your own pencil.
Plenty of parking is available near the South Poway staging area off Metate Lane. The trail is wide, well maintained and starts near the far end of the parking area
The South Poway Trail offers great views of Poway and travels from Pomerado Rd. east to Sycamore Canyon Rd.
5-11-10 The trail is still wide, but can be full of mustard weed near it and near some of the caches. Also, the signs may be missing...both on the road and by the trail.
