Pocket Park #3 -- The Other Way In Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

MadMin: I attempted to contact the owner of Pocket Park #3 -- The Other Way In to find out about the status of this cache on April 4, 2009. I have received no response from the owner on the cache page or via email. Because of that I'm afraid I have to archive this cache.

I will be more than happy to review this cache again and (hopefully) reinstate it once you have corrected any issues with the cache. please contact me via ma.reviewer@gmail.com to do so.

Please note that unarchiving a cache page places it through the same review process as a newly proposed cache, using the cache placement guidelines currently in effect.

Geocache Description:

The Old Granary Burying Ground is a historical site on Boston's Freedom Trail. The cache is accessible any time with some clever navigating *outside* the fence. Accurate readings are hard to come by due to the tall buildings (thus the 1.5 star; it's otherwise easy). The coords will get you to the cemetery and then it's up to your caching instinct! We added this to our new "Pocket Park" series on July 3, 2005. Log-only cache; please B.Y.O. pencil.

Most graveyards have but one way inside:
In a coffin, it's a one-way ride!
But this one has another gate
for those who still have an active heart rate.
If the suspense builds til you feel you'll pop,
Find that exit: It's also your final stop.

While you're here, keep an eye out for the local red-tailed hawks in the trees or on the steeple of the Park Street Church--sometimes with a squirrel in their talons for lunch!

It's also worth the time to examine the gravestones themselves (please stay on walkways!). The interpretive signs explain how the symbols evolved over time, from the winged death's-head of the early 1700s to willows and urns of the Revolutionary era.

The Old Granary Burying Ground holds many history lessons.
We hope it leaves you with favorable impressions!
