Geocache Description:

Cache is a camo-painted macadamia nut container. Not waterproof. Initial Contents include beads, tennis balls (for dogs), toy car and a logbook / pen.

Park at 35.52214 / -120.68889 (The end of Ferro Carril). Use the public access easement to the Salinas River. Cache is a short walk from parking location.

There is a children’s tree house to the south of this cache so be careful hide well.

Update:
decreased D/T from 2/2 to 1.5/1.5
Removed hint as this is easy enough as is.

The volcano that Team Fireball pointed out is actually concrete. There is another larger one further south. Before Ferro Carril was developed with houses it was a gravel / sand quarry. In addition its history included concrete production. The concrete volcanoes that you see are most likely product that was a bad mix or was going to harden up. When entering the river, after you leave the public access easement and enter AMWCO property (the salinas), you can see on your right a large rusted pipe sticking out of the hill. Most likely this was used in conjunction with a pump to extract water from the river for concrete production.

Trivia: The salinas is one of a few rivers in the world to flow north. What other prominent river flows south to north?
