Western White Clematis

This nearby plant (to the cache) is a woody climbing vine that often covers shrubs, trees and fences. In our area it sometimes covers even rather tall trees. Its appearance is quite different in the blooming stage, the seed stage of Fall, and during the Winter. Note the attached pictures.

In addition to being called just Clematis, it is also called Western White Clematis and Virginsbower, but the scientific name is Clematis ligusticifolia.
