This cache is located in what was once called Railroad Park in honor of the park's donation by Lake Shore and Michigan Southern in 1879. Today the park, in downtown Chesterton, is called Thomas Park and is known for its 1920s bandstand. In summer, the park is home to music and movie nights; one weekend in September, the Oz Fest takes over (hundreds of little Dorothys may make caching a challenge). Most days, though, there's plenty of room for picnics and train watching — or just a quick find.
The small cache is a tupperware container with a blue lid. There is only room for very small items.
Original contents were:
Old stamps, rubber frog, bead bracelet, 2 musical pins, nurse pin, peace pin, marble, canadian dime, coin from India, Italian coin, and glitter. Leave us a note in our little red book!
