Austin Key Club Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Prime Reviewer: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

The coordinates above are bogus. To gain access to this cache, you must obtain one of three traveling keys from an Austin area geocache or directly from another geocacher.

The keys are attached to travel bugs (see links below) and to instruction tags that contain the real coordinates to the locked box at those coordinates. Once you're done with the key you may leave it in another Austin cache or pass it to another geocacher. Part of the idea here is to foster social activity between Austin area geocachers, so please hand the key to another cacher in person if you like.

If you don't know any other Austin area geocachers, it's time you met some! They're a welcoming bunch of people and our own pleasant experiences with the community inspired us to create this cache. You can find the gang talking about caching of all kinds at the Central Texas Geocachers Yahoo Group. If you're looking to obtain the key, please don't pester the current holder. Rather send a polite e-mail through Geocaching.com or post a message to the Yahoo group indicating your interest and the current holder may pass it on to you. You can also watch the travel bugs to see if a key lands in a cache near you. Be patient.

Once you have the key and reach the coordinates, you shouldn't have too much trouble locating the cache itself. After trading swag (we've left some good stuff in here and we hope you'll trade something above the level of the usual trinkets) and signing the log, please move the key to its next recipient as soon as you can. Good hunting!
