The River City Geocaching (& Dining) Society (RCGDS) would like to extend an invitation to you and your family to join us on May 14th in beautiful historic Coloma for the day.
In lieu of our monthly dinner, we are having an all day potluck picnic. The day will be filled with lots of great people, good conversation and old-fashioned fun.
If you have any games you would like to organize or bring to share please do so!
A hot grill will be provided for barbecuing along with paper plates, napkins and plastic forks and spoons.
Please bring:
1) Your own meat (or meat substitute) to grill
2) Your own drinks (adult beverages permitted)
3) A potluck dish of your choice to share
Please indicate what you intend to bring in a "will attend" note below so we don't get multiples of the same dish.
Please Note: Since not everyone likes getting wet and to keep from having accidents around the food, there will be NO water fights in the picnic area UNTIL AFTER 5:00PM (or after the table area is cleaned up).
Water fights outside the picnic area are permitted all day!
The Marshall Gold Discovery State Historical Park will be open along with the museums. Fishing and swimming are permitted in the river however, panning for gold is not. There are several geocaches in the area, as well. I strongly recommend you take some time to visit some of the many features of this wonderful park.
RCGDS has reserved the North Beach Group Picnic Area which is just north of, and on the same side of the road as, Sutter’s Saw Mill. The exact coordinates are posted above. We will have the picnic area during the regular park hours which are 8:00 a.m. until Sunset. Please join us anytime throughout the day, although we hope you can spend the entire day with us exploring this fabulous park.
Remember, this is a California state park and a day use fee of $5 per vehicle will be charged for entrance into the park. Sorry.

RCGDS Historical note: Last years "Springtime in Coloma" event cache marked the first appearance of the Kilted Geocachers.
This years event is also a Kilt Friendly event, so if you have a Kilt wear it!
SEE YOU IN COLOMA!
