.: LazyBoy's Folly :. |
 |
We
like LazyBoy. Really we do! We visit Grants Pass and Medford, run
around like crazy and do all of his 1/1 magnetic micro lampost
Geocaches, and we think, how cool would it be to have somebody like
him in our area to hide tons of caches! I mean, we don't have that
many lightposts on the Redwood Coast, but we have plenty of trees,
and we don't want him to think WE are lazy.
So,
we decided to put out a cache in his honor. This is a five-part
multi-cache, and the first four stages are magnetic micros, of
course! We wanted LazyBoy to feel at home, after all. One is a
keyholder, one is a mint tin, one is a 35 mm film cannister and one
is a waterproof match container - we had to make sure we had them
all covered! But here is the tricky part (we couldn't make it as
easy as an LB 1/1 afterall - it is still OUR cache): you have to
find all four micros to get the coordinates to the final ammo can
cache full of goodies.
Each micro stage will have the coordinates to the next micro
stage, except the fourth one.
Each micro will have PART of the coordinates to the final stage on
a seperate piece of paper.
The micros do not have logbook, but bring something to write with
and write on to work out the final coordinates.
The
first stages are on the Oregon side of the border, and they will
eventually lead to the California side. This way, we are hoping to
get LazyBoy to the Coast to find some of our other caches! The
final stage will take you to a neat little clearing that is pretty
high in elevation. All vehicles should be able to make this trip
without a problem. Since you will have to start from the Oregon
side, you might also want to try our "Jed's Friends" caches, since
the final coordinates to those is in Crescent City. Or, if you are
starting from the Coast-side, you could do Two Track's "Shot Glass"
series, since it ends close to where this one starts. How about it,
LazyBoy? I'm sure MightyMite is game!
When
first placed, this cache contained the following expensive/enticing
goodies:
 |
Logbook, pen and pencil; |
 |
An assortment of waterproof items and things potentially
useful for diving; |
 |
A bunch of goodies for kids and grown-up
kids; |
 |
a Bookcrossing.com registered book |
 |
a Where's George registered dollar |
 |
A Jeep Travel Bug |
There is no First Finder award here, but if LazyBoy does the
cache, I have a special surprise just for him! Oh, and the scuba
theme of this cache does NOT mean that any diving is required, we
just wanted LazyBoy to feel comfortable with the appearance. Happy
Hunting! |
