Geocache Description:

My most extreme cache to date or is it just a Bold Bluff on my part?

This cache requires you to enter the container. You will fit inside, so long as you are no more than half again my size: you can either lower yourself in from the top or twist your way in from the side. Inside the container, you are relatively safe from the weather, although there is a hole in the side and a good sized opening in the top. You can see out of the container, but muggles probably won't notice you there unless they see you enter the container. The view of El Dorado Lake at sunset from the container helped inspire this cache. The view from the "lid of the container" is also pretty cool, east to the lake. Inside the container, you'll find the usual things. A little bit of rocks and rubble, maybe some litter, maybe a snake (so take your flashlight with you) or other hibernating critter, and the small black container you seek. A rattlesnake was spotted less than three miles from this cache (Hilltop Cache) so use extra caution.

The small black container was a powdered lemonade cannister in a former life and contains items for trade. It started out a little light with just a few Oregon Quarters, a log book, pen and maybe a trinket or two. Cache was muggled once, I want to keep it up so I made it smaller and harder. Please keep it secret.

The limestone in this area is pretty cool and is sufficiently water soluble for caving. There are lots of holes in the rocks and I had a lot of fun climbing around using toe holds and foot holds. No need for ropes here: it is at most class III scrambling, but you can get to the cache area with little if any climbing.

Cache is in El Dorado State Park and requires a parking permit. If you're a regular geocacher, why not buy an annual permit good for all the parks? There are several caches inside the park now as well as several in the nearby hunting areas. Fishermen are nearby, fishing looked good so a little stealth may be necessary. Also, feel free to leave the cache a little better hidden than you found it.
