Geocache Description:

You have to cross a style, so the cache can't be reached by wheelchair. But you can still visit the church by wheelchair if you don't mind a rocky road. If there is snow on the ground you probably won't make it, because it is quite high up in the hills.

The cache is near to the ancient church of Saint Gelynnin high in the hills above the Conwy Valley.

The tiny church is well worth a visit, and the door is often left open for visitors. It has a stone flagged floor, and we think that parts may still be just tamped down earth.

Inside the church there is a most unusual "thing" hanging on the wall. It has four legs and four handles. Please note your suggestions about its original use in your log!

In the corner of the walled church yard is a small bathing place. Its water was used in the healing of sick children.

The OS map marks a BOAT - byway open to all trafic - going back down into the valley, but we are not sure if it is really open to all traffic. We took the narrow metalled road instead.

We have just had feedback from some "seasoned" 4x4 experts on the BOAT. I quote

"It's very steep, very muddy, with hairpin bends and drops you don't want to go down, so would suggest only experienced 4x4's attempt it and personally would only do it with a 2nd crew on hand."

So TAKE CARE or better yet, don't go that way!
