Never At Sea - The Albion Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Deceangi: Rather than keep this cache temporarily disabled (which should only be used for shortish periods) I'm archiving it. If/when the cache is ever replaced I'll gladly unarchive it assuming it still meets the guidelines.

Geocache Description:

The general theme for this gentle series of loosely connected caches is the sea, or rather the lack of it. There are many things around us that suggest that they should be in a more brine-laden setting than they actually are.

Thanks to JollyJax for allowing me to add to this series.

There have been 9 ships in the Royal Navy bearing the name HMS Albion, from the first launched in 1763 as a battle ship, to the latest which entered service in 2003 as the first in the new Landing Platform Docks class. In its long history the Albion has earned 4 battle honours serving in Algiers in 1816, Navarino in 1827, Crimea in 1854-5 and finally at Dardanelles in 1915.

Chipping Norton, although as far as i know has no links with the Royal Navy, has several references to Albion around the town.

At the start co-ordinates you'll find the year that the brewery was established, this gives you ABCD.

N51 5(C-A-A).1(B-A)(B-A) W001 32.(D/3)D(A+C)

At these co-ordinates you'll see a sign with the allotment numbers on it, these numbers are EF & GH.
Then as before place these into the co-ordinates and these will lead to the cache.

N51 (F-E)6 E0(H+E) W001 (G)1 8(HG)

The cache is a small size box complete with logbook and pen and a few goodies that are all useful while out geocaching. When trading goodies if possible, please trade with other goodies that similarly will be useful to other cachers on the trail.
