The Hamstreet Stampede Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Davjan: Well it's had a good innings - 8 years, but it's running out of steam now. And as there are many other caches round here to enjoy, we are archiving it.

How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

In the woods north of Hamstreet, off the Saxon Shore Way. Some of the paths are likely to be muddy in wet weather.

In 1991, the Royal Mail issued a commemorative set of stamps, marking 200 years of Ordnance Survey, featuring maps of Hamstreet. That sounded like a good idea for a cache containing only postage stamps.

The cache is stocked with some British commemorative and foreign stamps and instructions on how the first to find can obtain, for free, a first day cover with the full set of Hamstreet stamps.

The cache is a small plastic container, and apart from the log book and pen is only big enough for stamps. Please swap fairly.

The cache should be easy enough to find when tree cover is light, but in full leaf may be a bit more difficult. So, from the gate at the north east corner of the woods, follow the main path NW for approx 60m and then take path on right heading north for approx 120m.
