Geocache Description:

This very special place is situated at the Northern side of Caradon Hill near Liskeard. A wonderfull site where you can sit and relax and very few people know of its exsistance so it should be very quiet.

Why The Shire? Well we are huge J.R.R. Tolkien fans and this place has always reminded us of The Shire, part of Middle Earth.

Parking is available at N50 31.070 W004 25.768. There is enough room for 1 or 2 cars here. The walk itself will take about 10-15 mins and takes in some lovely views out towards Sharptor and the Cheesewring. The signal on the path can be a little erratic but should not cause any problems. I have put a spoiler photo in just in case.

The cache itself is a 1 litre clip lock type box which contains a collectable Tolkien minature and a few small bits and pieces and a logbook.

For those of you who have completed our Pythagoras Theorum multi cache you will allready know the area.

Enjoy.

The road goes ever on and on.
