The above co-ordinates are for the High Falls parking area for the start. This is a multi-cache in DuPont State Recreational Forest, NC. You will go all over the Forest and learn some interesting things along the way.
Go to High Falls Parking Lot in DuPont State Recreational Forest between Brevard and Hendersonville to begin this hunt. This is not your normal 2 or 3 waypoint multi. There will be some driving involved unless you want to do this either hiking or biking. Horseback? If you hike or bike there may be wet stream crossings. Welcome to DuPont State Recreational Forest (DRSF)! This will be an all day hunt.
DSRF is known for its waterfalls. However, you will see things on this hunt that a lot of people don’t see in DuPont. Enjoy your tour and hunt! A map of DuPont will be VERY helpful. BE SURE TO TAKE PAPER AND PENCIL FOR NOTES, WATER AND SNACKS AND A FLASHLIGHT, JUST IN CASE.
E.I. duPont de Nemours built a plant in the 50’s to make silicon. (Taz (M) had his first job in industry in the engineering dept. in 1959). DuPont chose this area for the pristine water they needed for production. The plant was later changed over to make x-ray film and still later sold to AGFA. The old plant has been dismantled. The state later saved the land from development and DSRF was established.
Some of the waypoints are a short distance off trail.
There are other nearby caches so do your homework.
