Every few months, since January 2004, Bay Area Dining & Geocaching Enthusiasts Society (BADGES) has been hosting social get togethers in different parts of the Bay Area! Sometimes we hold dinners at neighborhood restaurants, and other times we head for the outdoors and throw a huge picnic. (Go to our profile to learn more about our informal group and how you, too, can become event organizers.)
We're starting summer off early with our first picnic of the year. Geocachers, geocaching friends & families, as well as new geocachers are welcome to attend!

We've reserved Area #3 for our use. It has 10 tables in the pine trees,
with a large BBQ & serving table. The area holds 80 to 100 people and is
near horseshoe pits and volleyball courts. Restrooms are conveniently
located nearby.
Situated on the shore of Stafford Lake, three miles west of Novato, the entire 139 acre park offers lake fishing, a nature trail, picnic areas with barbecue facilities for groups of up to 500 people, a children's play structure, lawn areas, a softball field, volleyball, and disc golf
as well as horseshoe courts.
DIRECTIONS: From Highway 101, take San Marin Drive to Novato Boulevard, to Novato Boulevard / Hicks Valley Road, then go west past the Stafford Lake Dam. (See coordinates at top of page.)
- $2 per person covers the park fee ($100) & our expenses (kids under 12 are free)
- Bring potluck item and your own drinks

- A-F: bring a dessert (self explanatory)
- G-M: bring a main dish (i.e., meats for BBQ... burgers, hot dogs, sausages, veggie burgers, chicken, casserole dish)
- N-Q: bring a snack (i.e., chips & dip, veggies, fruits, breads)
- R-Z: bring a salad or side dish (i.e., green, pasta, potato, macaroni, fruit)
- Barbeques and coal, plates, cups & condiments will be provided.
- Parking is $8.00. Sorry, but no pets are allowed.
