Noisy Scrub Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Balayang: I am regretfully archiving this cache since unfortunately there has been no action to restore it, or any communication from the cache owner, TEAM LANDCRUISER, requesting additional time.

An ample opportunity has been provided for the Cache Owner to respond, but since this opportunity has been ignored, I can only conclude that the cache has been abandoned.

Caches archived under these circumstances are unable to be Unarchived, and this location is now available for the placement of a new cache, by somebody else.

Geocache Description:

TLC GEOCACHING

FTF

Located in the Two Peoples Bay Nature Reserve. The area is a reserve and as such the native flora is protected so no heading off trail. It's an easy stroll along a marked access track and the cache can be located just off the rocky head land. Expect great views and if you have time throw a line in as the area is a hot spot with fishermen.

The cache should be easy to find with the spoiler pic as the day we placed it was very overcast and we were getting an EPE of around 7 meters.

Two People's Bay is a nature reserve of exceptionally high conservation value located 20km east of Albany. The Noisy Scrub bird was believed to be extinct until it was rediscovered at Two People's Bay in 1961. Recently, the Gilbert's Potoroo was also rediscovered while Quokkas were being studied in the area. The Western Bristle bird is also a threatened species, as is the Western Whip bird in Western Australia. The conservation of the Noisy Scrub bird has been highly successful, and they have now been relocated to Mt Many Peaks, Waychinicup and recently the Darling Range near Harvey. Almost flightless due to its small rounded wings, it keeps to the densest vegetation, moving like a small, fleeting shadow through the undergrowth. Only the resonant, musical song of the territorial male gives his location away.

If your interested to see the bird drop by the visitors center on your way into the reserve as you'll pass right past it, for some information and what to listen for.

Good luck and be careful out there!
