Geocache Description:

Bison are roaming the city’s environs! One has gotten himself stuck 100’ above sea level…. your mission is to hunt it down and log its condition.

A key access point all must traverse during this hunt is N61 13.821 W149 52.471. Several speed bumps and a stop sign or two later brings you to the vicinity of the cache. It’s exactly 1.5 miles one-way to walk from 3rd Ave. & C Street to this site. Check out local benchmarks before your hunt… there’s several easy ones in the vicinity. Avoid leaving level ground - absolutely stay off steep hillsides!

Eagles often hang out near here – just to the south the big birds like to sit in the treetops waiting for dinner, right in plain view. To the north, Eagles and Strike Eagles of the USAF take off and land at their home base. To the west, the city’s maritime supply line threads upper Cook Inlet. Visit on a sunny day when you can sit down and enjoy the view!
