A traditional cache hidden above the Hambledon Valley.
Why Simply Great? Well I couldn't think of an name and then I remembered Simply Paul explaining how his name came about. The hide is on the edge of Great Wood, so what better for a cache name.
The cache is a camouflaged 1 litre tupperware container containing the usual selection of kiddies goodies and something for the washer person of the house.
The cache is more than 1km from the nearest road. There are at least two possible parking places.
The approach from the North will result in muddy paths and stiles to cross, but it is in the main on the level. It's also close to the local brewery and vineyard.
The approach from the East has the advantage of a sort of metalled road but it is extremely steep and I wouldn't like to push a buggy up it,or for that matter control it going downhill!
Avoid parking near Woodend Farm, (N51 35.308 W00 54.435)there is no real space without obstructing the farm entrance, and they get upset with people doing that
There are a number of pubs in the vicinity if you feel in need of refreshment afterwards.
Please replace the container exactly as you found it, no sticks across it if you please, thanks.
