This is our first attempt at a cache. We wanted it close by (relativley) so I picked what used to be a playground that we played at as youngsters. If you are unfamilar with Loydsville, PA look it up on a map. Its basically at the Latrobe END of Donohue Road.
For PARKING, you have two options:
a) At a closed market across the street called
"Drosky's Mkt" 40N 18.894 79W 23.961
-OR-
b)Along the street near the playground
40N 18.879 79W 23.927
Your best option is parking at the Drosky's Mtk and crossing the street (just be careful as you do so).
As you will see this playground is nothing more than a grassy/wooded area these days. The playground was dismantled years ago for an unknown reason. The land is maintained by Latrobe Parks and Recreation. This area gets the most use in the winter when the children from the hill to sled ride.
You should have no problems getting to the cache. I suggest staying in the grass until the last 20 to 30 feet.
The cache is a rubbermaid container painted with brown and green paint. Remember to leave the area looking "natural" so no muggles (that might be close by sled ridding ;) ) will suspet and ruin it for us.
As you will read int the log book I would like to see this cache have a photography theme. Good Items to include would be : PHOTOS FROM OTHER CACHES (labeled with the cache name that is pictured) DISPOSIBLE CAMERAS, BATTERIES, ECT... However this is a traditional cache so all appropriate items are welcome!
