Amazingly Evil Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Nellsnake: I checked on the area of the cache yesterday, and indeed much of the area has been bulldozed. There is no sign of the cache at the site where it used to be. It is either gone or deeply buried. Sorry for the trouble and inconvenience that recent seekers have had.

Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the posted coordinates!

This is a tough puzzle cache in the Pittsburgh area.

To discover the location of the "Amazingly Evil" puzzle cache, you must find four clues hidden in caches in the Pittsburgh area. Once you have found the clues and solved the puzzle they contain, you will discover the location of the final cache.
So where are the four caches containing clues? The only hints you get are these:
- None of the four caches is more than ten miles from downtown Pittsburgh.
- None of the four caches are micros.
- The old, peglegged, reformed bank robber who helped me hide this cache, Cap'n Fictitious, wrote the following bit of verse to jog his failing memory. Maybe it will help you:

One by Indian cliffs among all the trees
One in the east - false booty it be
One at the scene of me pappy's big crime
One when ye think yer ready for prime time
What shall ye do with the clues that ye've got?
Every good pirate knows X marks the spot.

Look for small containers of hint slips with an orange lid (picture below):

One word of warning: there are several intermediate locations relevant to the puzzle that you will discover once you find the hidden hints. These are virtual points - I have not hidden anything at these intermediate locations!
If you have figured out where the final cache is located, you can mail me with your coords, and I'll let you know if you're looking in the right spot. I recommend using UTM coordinates for any mathematical solution you might attempt along the way. It is possible to find the final cache using only a good map, the hidden hints, and a great deal of care, but it's probably easier to do algebra.
Happy hunting!
