Geocache Description:

The Riverwalk of Minot is a 2.5 mile walking and biking trail that crosses over the Mouse River numerous times. This cache (magnetic key holder) near the start of the Riverwalk has a beautiful view of the Mouse River. The Riverwalk starts at the Railroad Museum at 19 1st St NE. Nearby is the Lillian and Coleman Taube Museum of Art which is the center for the visual arts, educational programs, and cultural and social events. To the East is Eastwood Park which began in 1906 and by the mid-1920’s was the home to many of Minot’s founding families. In 1986, the neighborhood was designated a National Historic District. Leaving Eastwood Park you enter Roosevelt Park and Zoo, open May – September (701 857-4166). Over 200 mammals, birds and reptiles, a children’s zoo, education center, gift shop and concessions stand are some of the attractions that keep visitors coming back. Roosevelt Park has a swimming pool with waterslide, tennis courts, horseshoe pits, picnic shelters, a band shell for free concerts, as well as gardens and flowerbeds. The walk finishes at the North Dakota State Fair Grounds and the Ward County Historical Society Pioneer Village and Museum. For a map of the Riverwalk, call the Minot Convention & Visitors Bureau by calling 701 857-8206.
