It has been reported that the original cache coordinates may be off by about 60 feet.. Be sure and note the updated coordinates above. Thank you Nellsnake for the correction.
This cache is located along the proposed Ghost Town Trail extension that will link the Ghost Town Trail to the Hoodlebug Trail at Black Lick. The level trail follows Black Lick Creek and although there are a few signs and scars from past mining operations you can see that Mother Nature is winning back what is hers. We think this diamond in the rough will become one of the jewels of the West Penn trail system. The cache is located near the trail about 1 mile from the suggested starting point in the town of Heshbon at 40 28.409N 079 05.726W . At the half way point there’s a bridge with a small waterfall that would make a nice spot to stop and regroup. Those strong of heart and limb may want to continue down the trail to Black Lick Creek Cache 2.
