Windmill Tump Two Traditional Cache
RedCableTie: I have now recovered the cache container - so it is now all over for my two Windmill Tump caches, which were the first caches I ever put out. I hope someone else decides to make use of the byway to place out some caches - it is a lovely spot for walking and deserves a few new caches to be placed along its length.

Windmill Tump (aka Rodmarton Long Barrow) is a neolithic chambered long barrow excavated in 1863 and 1939; containing multiple inhumation burials with leaf shaped arrowheads. Roman pottery and coins have also been found - the site is close to the Fosse Way between Cirencester and Bath. It is a scheduled monument in the care of English Heritage and Gloucestershire County Council.
Windmill Tump One and Two are a pair of geocaches on a byway close to the long barrow. However the byway does not actually pass the long barrow, but the barrow can be accessed from the parking location suggested for the Windmill Tump One cache - it is worth a visit. It is recommended that this, Windmill Tump Two, cache is visted along with its partner Windmill Tump One, through parking at the location suggested for the Windmill Tump One cache. This also gives a good opportunity to visit the long barrow.
However it is readily possible to park nearer this, Windmill Tump Two, cache at N51 41.739 W2 05.257 (ST 94042 99664). Then take the byway in a southerly direction. The byway surface is good, but stout and waterproof footwear is recommended except in periods of good dry weather.
The byway also crosses a road at N51 41.287 W2 05.688 (ST 93545 98827), but there is really no opportunity to park there.
Given our geo-caching name the cache contains items on a red theme!
