Geocache Description:

Just a little over a year ago I placed a cache near the place the Cumberland Valley Appalachian Trail Club designates as Center Point Knob. At the time that designation confused me because according to my topographical mapping software Center Point Knob is the next peak to the West. Without getting into a debate over which is the real Center Point Knob, I have placed this cache on that "other" Center Point Knob.

There are many ways to get to this cache. You can bushwack of course, but if you wish to follow trails most of the way I can recommend the following:

Parking is available for one or two vehicles at the intersection of Gutshall and Stout Roads (N 40 08.032 W 077 07.011). Follow the trail from there to the intersection with the Appalachian Trail and take the Appalachian Trail to the intersection with a small unmarked trail (at approx. N 40 07.682 W 077 06.640). Take a right on the unmarked trail and follow it to the intersection with another unmarked trail (at approx. N 40 07.635 W 077 06.780). Take a left on that trail and follow it to the top of the knob. Actual distance (NOT as the crow flies) from parking to the cache is approx. 1.07 miles by this route.

Cache container is clear plastic Rubbermaid with a blue rim around the lid. Enjoy your hike and remember to wear orange in hunting seasons.
