2005 SNYDER PARK SPRING CLEANUP

PLEASE post a note with your geocaching name
AND real first name if you plan on attending.

Local GXers have been asked to participate in the
2005 SNYDER PARK Spring Cleanup.
Please join us at Snyder Park to help clean up part of the Snyder Parks Primitive North Trail, and give something back to Snyder Park. The Cache-In-Trash-Out Event will be followed by a Potluck GeoPicnic, the usual Travel Bug Exchange. We plan on meeting at Lester’s Diner for an informal breakfast (7:30 am – 9:30 am) after which we'll all meet near Pavillion #16 by 10am & organize our efforts to CITO parts of the North Trail until about 2 PM. We will be working from trail marker #25 back west towards the road.

Groundspeak sponsors an Annual International Cache In Trash Out Day every year, this being the third year in a row. Cache In Trash Out Day is an opportunity for GXers to help clean up the parks and other cache-friendly places throughout the world. Through the volunteer efforts of the GXing community, we will all help preserve the natural beauty of our outdoor resources. Together, we can make an enormous positive impact with just a little effort.

Cache In Trash Out Day is made possible each year by a partnership between Groundspeak and the entire GXing community, with support from businesses and organizations everywhere. You can help by volunteering for an organized CITO, a coastal cleanup, or by cleaning up your own community.

We'll have a blast together and do something good for Mother Earth at the same time, so please join us. In order to get a ball park figure of the amount of people coming and the names of those planning on attending, please post a note to let us know if you will be there, how many people will be with you, geo and real first names. Snyder Park will be providing the pavilion and the nice people with Adopt-A-Street are providing trash bags, gloves, vests and pokie sticks (No, you can’t keep them!) for our use. You may want to bring your own as well. PLEASE WEAR CLOSE-TOED SHOES.

UPDATE:

After just the right amount of arm twisting, please note that after the cleanup there will be a crawfish boil (approx. 80lbs. of mud bugs, corn, sausage, etc.) at Pavillion 16. For those who care not to partake (the crawfish WILL be hot and spicey), there will be grills available for your use.

FEE's:

The admission fee to enter the park has been waived. If you are planning on joining us for the camping, it will be $5.00 per person.
The Park is also offering a Camping and Hiking clas at Pavillion #1 for 4-6 PM (fee $2/pp) with the option of primitive camping in the park for the night. Several fellow cachers are planning on camping, should you care to join us please post the number in your party. Those without equipment can contact TeamSnook for a chance at a loaner tent. First come, first serve....

** Watch this page for future details as they pop up! **

Snyder Park was targetted for cleanup by because of the fun we all had back in February. We want to give the gift of service back to the Park. Please respect any posted rules of the park, especially field regulations and parking guidelines.

This Snyder Park Spring Cleanup is part of the
GREAT AMERICAN CLEANUP 2005.
